ABAN i-Boot Camp Technical Partner

What: ABAN joins forces with YALDA as a Technical Partner for the 2024 i-Boot Camp

When: 5th February 2024

Where: Pretoria, South Africa

Pretoria (South Africa): On 5th February 2024, the Youth Alliance for Leadership and Development in Africa (YALDA) and its partners are proud to announce a strategic collaboration with the African Business Angel Network (ABAN) for the upcoming biennial i-Boot camp. The i-Boot camp is scheduled for 21st to 25th February 2024, at the Future Africa Centre at the University of Pretoria in South Africa.

Through this partnership, ABAN brings its wealth of experience and expertise in fostering innovation and supporting early-stage ventures to the YALDA i-Boot Camp. This collaboration underscores the commitment of both organizations to empower and elevate the next generation of African leaders and entrepreneurs.

In line with YALDA’s AfCFTA campaign “Umoja Africa Campaign – Youth Contributing to the Implementation of the AfCFTA”, which uses various avenues to create awareness of the concepts, benefits, and opportunities that are available to youth through regional integration and intra-Africa trade, the 2024 edition of the i-Boot camp will be held under the theme “Breaking Information Barriers on Intra-Africa Trade: Accelerating Youth Inclusiveness in Implementing the AfCFTA". This year’s i-boot camp is especially important for the campaign as all activities of the campaign will culminate in the camp. The activities are designed to help break down information asymmetry around the AfCFTA and ensure that youth drive the discussion around their inclusion in the implementation of the instruments of the agreement.

“YALDA's strategic partnership with ABAN allows us to ignite entrepreneurial growth via access to finance, guidance from their network of early-stage investors, and skills necessary to transform their business,” Grant Davis, i-Boot Camp Chairperson.

“YALDA's strategic partnership with ABAN is a testament to our commitment to fostering entrepreneurial growth across Africa. This collaboration provides aspiring entrepreneurs with not only vital access to finance but also invaluable guidance from ABAN's extensive network of early-stage investors. Moreover, it equips them with the essential skills needed to transform their innovative ideas into successful and sustainable businesses. Through this synergy, we aim to empower the next generation of African leaders, driving positive change and economic development on the continent,” CEO of ABAN, Fadilah Tchoumba.

YALDA registered its official international headquarters in the Republic of Botswana under the Registration of Securities Act under section 6(1) on August 7, 2006. The organization’s mission is anchored on a strong desire to achieve development on the African continent not only through collaboration between university students and other youth but by also creating long-lasting networks between young leaders and leading professionals worldwide.
